Yeva Kafidova received her Bachelor’s degree from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (NAFAA, Kyiv) in 2022.
Her artistic practice is shaped by key ideas: “everything passes” and “everything will be fine again, and then bad again.” Observation through this lens shapes the materials she works with and the concepts she explores. She is drawn to fragile and unstable materials that are difficult to control or easy to destroy; they reflect the vulnerability and unpredictability of memory and life itself. Her work includes paper-based pieces using various printmaking techniques (monotype, diatype, gelatin printing), paintings on raw canvas, ceramics, and metal.
She often returns to her hometown of Nova Kakhovka in her work as a way to explore belonging, identity, and the shifting meaning of place. She reflects on how one’s perception of home changes when it becomes an occupied territory, and what it means to be someone born and raised there. She is interested in how memory transforms when new knowledge recontextualizes what once seemed familiar. Her focus often turns to how memory lives in the body — through things like hair loss or muscle memory. Through myth, she explores the blurred line between death and not-death, seeking to soften the fear of dying, a presence she senses everywhere.

Її мистецьку практику формують дві ключові ідеї: «все минає» та «все знову буде добре, а потім знову погано». Її приваблюють крихкі та нестабільні матеріали, які складно контролювати чи легко зруйнувати; вони відображають вразливість і непередбачуваність пам’яті та самого життя. Це включає роботи на папері з використанням різних технік (монотипії, діатипії, желатиновий друк), живопис на негрунтованих полотнах, кераміку й метал.
Вона часто повертається у роботах до свого дому в Новій Каховці як способу дослідження людини, особистісного і політичного: як змінюється сприйняття рідного місця, коли воно стає окупованою територією, і ким стає той, хто там народився і виріс; як трансформується памʼять від отримання нових знань про нібито добре відоме. Її цікавлять тілесні прояви пам’яті, такі як випадіння волосся чи м’язова пам’ять.
Через міф досліджує розмиту межу між смертю і несмертю, прагнучи пом’якшити страх смерті, присутність якої відчуває повсюди.
